Power Line Communication for Home Automation Applications
Hromádka, Michal ; Štohl, Radek (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of a modem for a communication over residential power lines. First part is focused on the history, suitable frequency bands, modulation techniques and mainly on the selection of the optimal modem device. Second section contains the description of the hardware design of the modem itself and clarifies the implementation of the PLC module to be used as a communication interface for a full residential automation solution. Last chapters of this thesis introduce the communication protocol, design of the software for the ATmega32 MCU and present of the final field testing under real conditions.
Gamification of Mobile Application for Intelligent Home Control
Lamacz, Jan ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Žádník, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities of raising users' motivation to use the application for the Intelligent home control. It describes common principles of implementation of game-based mechanics into the real-life systems and deals with the concrete design of motivational programme. Practical part of this thesis describes the implementation of the designed system of rewards and its display in the mobile application. The final application contains the motivational system for users based on collecting points and achievements and covers the majority of the functions of the Intelligent home.
Home Heating Control with Hybrid Communication

Home Automation with Third-Party Sensors
Macháč, Matej ; Korček, Pavol (referee) ; Košař, Vlastimil (advisor)
The aim of this work is to evaluate possibilities to integrate wireless devices for home automation in BeeeOn system developed on the Faculty of Information Technology in Brno. This thesis describes USB modules that allow connenction to these devices. It describes the communication protocols that the modules can handle and devices using these protocols. It also deals with FHEM system, its features and possibilities of communication with the BeeeOn system. A reader can also find decription of implementation of every module created to provide support of wireless devices to the gate of BeeeOn system.
Internet of Things Device Based on Thread and 6LoWPAN
Piškula, David ; Nosko, Svetozár (referee) ; Musil, Petr (advisor)
Internet of Things is among the newest phenomena of information technologies. This work describes the evolution and future of the Internet of Things and provides an overview of its current applications, then summarize the communication interfaces and protocols usable for the creation of the Internet of Things. The main focus is put especially on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard, 6LoWPAN protocol and the Thread technology. It also explains the term of Cloud Computing, platforms that are providing it and related types of databases. The design, implementation and testing of a Thread based solution are part of this thesis.
Design of Smart Home Control System
Valičková, Monika ; Petr,, Komárek (referee) ; Ondrák, Viktor (advisor)
This Bachelor Thesis focuses on the selection and design of a Smart Home Control System for a planned superstructure of an apartment building in Brno. It's based on an analysis of the Architectural design of one of the apartments and investors requirements. The thesis gives an overview of suitable systems, which are currently available on the market and compares them. It also describes functions of the selected system and its parts, which are necessary for the implementation. Both technical documentation and cost analysis are also part of the thesis.
Home Automation Based on Arduino/WeMos/RPi Platform
Bubeníček, Daniel ; Materna, Zdeněk (referee) ; Kapinus, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation of home automation system based on Arduino, WeMos and Raspberry Pi platforms. Twelve modules for home automation were designed, which can be easily built on these platforms. The implemented prototype allows to control heating system and LED light, track temperature and humidity, detect newly connected Wi-Fi devices, human motion, door opening, create custom automation rules etc. The system uses pre-existing household equipment. The new hardware used in prototype cost only 1.600 CZK.
Using LOXONE system installation for Design control and regulation the heating system in house
Novák, Michael ; Bátora, Branislav (referee) ; Pěcha, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the division of the system installation and gives an overview of electrical appliances and heating system. It focuses on the Loxone system installation. The main part is the project documentation of wiring, programming the control of a family house and regulation of the solar thermal system for heating water and the heating system control. It also includes a simple economic evaluation of the proposed solar system.
Using of voice for home eguipment control
Bubla, Lukáš ; Vojáček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Lacko, Branislav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on home automation, specifically on voice control. It describes methods of communication and control of automated systems and especially problematics of computer voice recognition using different methods. The thesis displays specific product for voice controlling developed by Czech company Elko ep, s.r.o. and then briefly looks at the issue of gesture control. At the end compares product from Elko ep with other products from foreign companies and discuss advantages and disadvantages of voice or gestures control.
